Knights' Tournament Trailer 2025
Arena Show
The epic jousting tournament is the highlight of the tournament day at Kaltenberg Castle. The show, which is staged anew every year, focuses on the knights on their horses. For example, in the fascinating trick riding, known as vaulting. Or in the traditional jousting, also known as lance fighting. For around two hours, the audience is entertained with a fantastic story, visually stunning stage sets, and flaming pyrotechnics and lighting effects.
It is not without reason that the Kaltenberg Knight Tournament has already been named Germany's best live show.

Music and Juggling
What would a festival be without music and entertainment? From the first weekend of the tournament onwards, the hottest bands on the medieval music scene gather at Kaltenberg Castle, especially on the Raven Stage. These include German music legends such as Corvus Corax and Tanzwut, as well as exciting newcomers such as Könix and Irdorath.
The minstrels are joined at Kaltenberg Castle by numerous Jugglers & Performers, who entertain the audience throughout the tournament day with artistry, magic, theater, sleight of hand, humor, and pranks.

Kids’ Activities
The entire Kaltenberg Knight Tournament is a paradise for children. And not just on Sundays, when the herald calls the youngsters to the arena for the children's tournament after the "big" knight tournament. There is an adventure playground with a knight's castle, activities such as candle making and archery... There is even a small children's corner on the grounds where children between the ages of 3 and 12 – under the supervision of their parents – feel particularly at home: The children's corner includes a craft and painting workshop where they can express their creativity with natural paints, and an engraving workshop where, among other things, various wooden toys are given a personal touch.

Another Kaltenberg adventure awaits children at the Bavarian Knights of Kaltenberg's squire school. It always takes place one hour before the Parade the apple meadow. Here, brave children can prove themselves in sword fighting with simple basic strikes and are rewarded with a knighthood afterwards. Of course, children can also marvel at swords, chain mail, and armor directly in the Bavarian Knights' camp. The knights can be recognized by their distinctive coat of arms: two Bavarian golden lions surrounded by the typical diamonds in the state colors of white and blue.
Market and crafts
Many of our medieval craftsmen are every bit as skilled as the jugglers when it comes to dexterity. Iron, precious metals, wood, leather, or wool... they use all these raw materials to create incredibly beautiful things. The blacksmith works on red-hot swords on his anvil. The woodcarver crafts imaginative tea lights, lanterns, and masks. The soap maker presents his handmade pieces. And beautiful jewelry is carved in the art forge.
At our market and craft stalls, you can experience almost forgotten manufacturing techniques up close.

Enjoyment and culinary delights
Where knights celebrate, beer and hearty food are a must.
As you wander through our medieval world, you will encounter culinary specialties everywhere: delicious wood-fired bread, baked just like in the old days, hearty roast pork with crackling, or spicy wild garlic meat. The game specialties, such as venison goulash, are also really tasty. Accompanied by a freshly tapped König Ludwig Dunkel beer. Simply wonderful.
And then there's also the tournament menu at the Ritterschwemme: a three-course meal that can be pre-ordered so you don't miss any of the tournament highlights while waiting.
